A four turbofan powered short range medium sized passenger aircraft with Short Take-Off and Landing characteristics, built by British Aerospace from 1983to 2002. From 1992, an improved version of the aircraft was known as the Avro RJ. The high wing (mounted inline with the top of the fusilage),which was unusual for a jet aircraft gives passengers good visibility of the ground.
