Boeing 737-700 belonging to Air Berlin

Short to medium range twin turbofan engined passenger aircraft, introduced in 1968 with over 5,000 having been built since.

737 100

The original 737 with a capacity of approximately 100 passengers, of which 30 were built, none of which remain in service.

737 200

Also in service from 1968, this was an extended version of the 100. A number of the 737 200’s are still in service around the world.

737 300

Launched in 1989, along with the following aircraft, the 300 featured different engines giving better fuel efficiency and other improvements. This aircraft, with a capacity of 168 passengers was in production until 1999.

737 400

Launched in 1985, the 747 400 was an extended version of the 300.

737 500

Smaller than the 400, the 500 was designed as a replacement to the 200, having a capacity of 132 passengers.

737 600

The first of the “New Generation” 737’s with a number of improvements, including better fuel efficiency and greater fuel capacity, giving a longer range of up to 5,500 Km.

737 700

The 700 was designed as the replacement to the older 737 300, having an all economy seating capacity of 149.

737 800

The 737 800 was a stretched version of the 700, giving an all economy seating capacity of 189.

737 900

Although longer than the 800,due to having the same arrangement of exit doors, the 900 was limited to 189 passengers.
The 737 900ER, available from 2006, has two extra exit doors, enabling a total capacity of 215 all economy passengers.
