A successful rugged twin turboprop engined plane with short take of and landing capabilities
Twin Otter variants include the 100, 200 and 300, the latter two distinguished by their longer, more streamlined nose, which gave extra luggage storage.
The 300 also had more powerful engines enabling 20 passengers and increased baggage to be carried.
Production ceased in 188 with over 600 series 300 having been built.
An Australian company now have the right to build Twin Otters and announced in 2007 that they planned to start production.
