Air Moldova, the national airline of Moldova, was established in 1992 from the local unit of the Russian airline, Aeroflot, joining the International Air Transport Association in 2004. The airlines roots can be traced back to 1944.
The airline has modernised its aircraft fleet since the Aeroflot days, starting with Airbus, followed by the brand new Embraer.
The airline transported just over a million passengers in 2015.
