CSA Czech Airlines, the national airline of the Czech Republic (and previously of the former Czechoslovakia until 1993 when that country split into the Czech Republic and Slovakia) can trace its roots back to 1923.
The airline is sometimes referred to simply as CSA, which is an abbreviation of its name in the Czech language.
It was understood that the Czech government planned to sell 90% of CSA shares sometime during 2009. The largest airline of Russia, Aeroflot, had shown an interest.
However, Korean Air bought 44% of the airline 2013, sold to Travel Service in 2017. This gave Travel Service, a Czech Charter airline, a 78.9% stake.
Czech airlines carried 2.9 million passengers in 2017, a 19% increase from the previous year.
