Wideroe, now part of the SAS group and established in 1934, was basically a regional airline in Norway until the deregulation of the Norwegian airline market in 1994, when they launched a number of new International routes.
The airline has a fleet of 40 aircraft, mostly Dash 8 with Short Take Off and Landing (STOL) abilities suited to the network of small airports in Norway.
