Pegasus Airlines, based at Istanbul, Turkey, started flying operations in 1990, as a joint venture between Aer Lingus and others, becoming wholly privately (Turkish) owned in 1994, ownership changing again in 2005.
Originally the airline flew chartered flights only but began scheduled flights in 2005.
27 million passengers were carried by Pegasus in 2017, a 15% increase from the previous year, and is the 2nd largest airline in Turkey.
