Sofia Airport, otherwise known as Airport, is located 6Km East of the capital city Sofia, Western Bulgaria
Sofia airport has 2 terminals located approximately 800m apart.
Terminal 1 (the old terminal – now used by low cost airlines).
Terminal 2 is a relatively new building completed in December 2006
To and From the Airport
A new Metro station, connected to terminal 2, opened in spring 2015, the journey time into Sofia city centre being 20 minutes, costing 1.6 Lev (around 80 British pence).
A regular bus service runs from the airport to Sofia city centre during the day for a cost of 1 Lev ( approx 50 British Pence) (you may have to buy an extra ticket for your luggage and tickets need to punched in machine on bus).
Taxis are available at both terminals.
A free shuttle bus runs between the two terminals every 30 minutes during the day, and by request in the evening.
Terminal Facilities
Terminal 1 facilities include 2 bars/restaurants or bars, 3 banks or money changing facilities, 3 shops and duty free, a post office, a business class lounge, and free wireless Internet access.
Terminal 2 facilities include 6 bars/restaurants, 8 shops, post office, 2 business lounges, reading room.
