Bordeaux Airport, otherwise known as Merignac Airport, is located 12Km West of Bordeaux, on the western coast. Bordeaux,the capital of the Aquitaine region, is a port city considered to be the wine capital of the world.
Bordeaux airport has one terminal divided into Hall A and Hall B.
A new terminal (named billi) specifically for low cost airlines opened in mid 2010, adjacent to Hall B of Terminal 1.
Extension work on the billi terminal was carried out in 2014 and 2015 to cope with rapid growth.
The airport is situated adjacent to the motorway network giving good access to Bordeaux and the surrounding Aquitaine region – ideal for exploring the picturesque countryside and wines.
To and From the Airport
A bus service runs between the airport and the Bordeaux train station approximately every 45 minutes during the day, the journey taking 30-45 minutes at a cost of approximately 8 Euros one way.
