Rome Airport, otherwise known as Ciampino Airport, is located 12Km South East of the centre of Rome, near the west coast of Italy.

This was the main airport for Rome before the larger airport was opened at Fiumicino in the 1960s. Ciampino is now used mainly by charter flights and budget airlines.

The airport lies beside the SS7 road going into Rome and is just outside the A90 ring road which connects to motorways in various directions.

To and From the Airport


The nearest Metro station is approximately 6Km from the airport and rail station 4Km – bus to either costing approximately 1 Euro for the 5 minute journey, running every 30mins.
There are also bus links into the city from the airport.
Terravision run a bus service between the airport and Rome city centre at 4 Euros for the 40 minute journey.

A taxi from the airport to the city centre is likely to cost 35 Euros, or 50 Euros to Fiumicino airport.
