Murcia International Airport, otherwise known as Corvera Airport, is located 20Km south of Murcia City and 30Km north of Cartagena
This totally new airport was first due to open in 2013 but was delayed for some years, mostly due to politics. It eventually opened 15th January 2019. The Murcia airport at San Javier, on the coast, closed to commercial traffic on that date.
To and From the Airport
A bus service links the airport to Murcia city approximately 3 times per day, at a cost of 5 Euros. A bus service also links the airport with Cartagena and La Manga 5 times per day at a cost of 5 and 10 Euros respectively. A further service links the airport with Mazarron and Aguilas twice a day for 12 and 15 Euros respectively.
Taxis are available with a trip to Murcia city likely to cost 30Euros for the 25 minute journey.
